Fortis Gas Fireplace Rebates

Looking to get a Fortis BC rebate for your gas fireplace? If you're looking to install a new high-efficiency gas fireplace for your home, you'll most likely qualify! Only certain fireplaces are eligible for the Fortis BC natural gas rebates, so make sure to see if your fireplace will qualify.

Fireplace Rebate Eligibility Requirements
Requirements:
1. Your home must have a FortisBC natural gas account (except for condo and townhome owners installing EnerChoice fireplaces)
2. If the FortisBC account holder is not the same as the property owner, the property owner must have the account holder fill out A Utility Account Holder Consent Form
3. The home must be a pre-existing primary residence and at least 12 months old
4. Applications must be submitted within 6 months of the paid invoice date
5. Rebates cannot exceed total invoice costs
6. One rebate per household for primary heating systems and one for water heaters

Are you considering installing a new fireplace in your home or looking to upgrade your existing fireplace to a new EnerChoice energy-efficient natural gas fireplace? The EnerChoice designation was developed by fireplace manufacturers to identify the most energy-efficient natural gas fireplaces. To qualify for EnerChoice, homes must have a minimum fireplace energy-efficiency rating of:

62.4 per cent or higher for fireplaces
61 per cent or higher for inserts
66 per cent or higher for freestanding stoves
